NDLEA Seizes Over 12,000kg of Drugs in Kaduna

The NDLEA Kaduna State Command, led by Maijama Muhammad, reported the seizure of 12,724.652 kg of assorted illicit drugs and the arrest of 1,107 suspects from June 2025 to June 2026. The seized drugs included 9,091.974 kg of cannabis sativa, 0.004 kg of heroin, 0.315 kg of cocaine, 2.949 kg of methamphetamine, 301.852 kg of tramadol, and 3,345.558 kg of psychotropic substances.
The command intensified intelligence-led operations and enforcement activities, resulting in the arrest of 1,107 individuals for various drug-related offenses, comprising 1,075 males and 32 females. During this period, 297 suspects were charged in court, with 251 convicted.
The command also reported that 94 clients received treatment in rehabilitation programs, with 78 successfully rehabilitated. Community engagement efforts included anti-drug sensitization campaigns reaching thousands of students and community leaders.
The NDLEA emphasized the importance of collective efforts in combating drug abuse and trafficking.
