NDLEA Seizes 30kg Heroin in Coffee Packs, Arrests Brazilian Woman in Abuja Airport

The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended a 30-year-old Brazilian woman, Ingrid Benevid, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. She was found with 30.09 kilograms of heroin concealed in coffee packs valued at N3 billion.

The suspect claimed she brought the illicit drugs to Nigeria as gifts for friends during her holiday visit. In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted passengers, Adediran Adedoyin and Afatakpa Ochuko, with tramadol and tapentadol pills at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Furthermore, NDLEA's marine command intercepted a wooden boat loaded with 1,848 kilograms of cannabis in Lekki, Lagos. Two suspects, Aminu Baba and Abdulrashe Abubakar, were arrested in connection with the drug seizure.

NDLEA's efforts are part of a broader strategy to disrupt drug trafficking networks and curb illicit drug supply chains across Nigeria.
