NDLEA Seizes Over 936kg of Illicit Drugs Across Six States

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) conducted operations across six states, resulting in the interception of significant quantities of illicit drugs. On February 15, 2023, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi reported the recovery of 7,300 pills of tramadol (225mg) concealed within two sound systems during a patrol along the Oken-Lokoja highway in Kogi State.

The agency also arrested two suspects linked to this consignment. In Ondo State, NDLEA operatives arrested a suspect in Iju Forest, seizing 195 kilograms of skunk seeds and an additional 198 kilograms of a substance during a raid.

In total, 936 kilograms of skunk were seized, with four suspects arrested in Bauchi State, including 85.8 kilograms of the substance. Furthermore, in Delta State, 37 kilograms of skunk were seized from a female suspect, while in Edo State, a raid destroyed over 1,266 kilograms of skunk on three farms, leading to the apprehension of two suspects, aged 68 and 43.
