NDLEA Seizes Drugs at Lagos Airport, Multiple Arrests Made

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized multiple consignments of illicit drugs concealed in carton walls and body creams at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. On March 20, 2023, Fridai Ehianuka, 37, was apprehended attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Rome with 2,698 tramadol pills hidden in skin-lightening cream.
Another suspect, Christian Agbonhes, 38, was arrested on March 18, 2023, while boarding a Lufthansa flight to Milan, carrying 28,470 opioid pills, including tramadol and tapentadol. The NDLEA also intercepted parcels containing 1kg of cannabis and 158 grams of methamphetamine destined for New Zealand.
Further operations across Nigeria led to the recovery of significant quantities of drugs, including 198kg of skunk in Kano and 586,000 tramadol pills in Kaduna. NDLEA Chairman Brig.
