NDPHC Sets 2027 Target for Alaoji Power Plant Completion

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), represented by Managing Director Jennifer Adighij, has set a new completion target for the 570MW Alaoji Power Plant in Abia State for the third quarter of 2027. This announcement was made during a tour of the plant, where Adighij explained that the company had to compel contractors to submit a revised recovery plan due to previous delays that made the initial completion timeline unfeasible.

Adighij, accompanied by Executive Directors Abdullahi Kassim and Omoregi Ogbeid, assured the House of Representatives Committee on Power of the company's commitment to providing technical and financial support to ensure the project's progress. She also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's approval of a refinancing plan for the power sector, which is expected to improve liquidity and facilitate ongoing projects.

The committee, led by Chairman Victor Nwokolo, praised the proactive approach of NDPHC's management in resolving logistical bottlenecks that have stalled the project.
