Reps Praise NDPHC Leadership on Alaoji Power Project

The House of Representatives, led by Victor Nwokolo, commended the leadership of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) during an oversight visit to the Alaoji power plant project in Abia State. The project, a 570-megawatt combined cycle power plant, has faced delays but has made significant progress under the management of Engr.

The committee observed tangible efforts in recovering critical equipment necessary for project completion. Nwokolo emphasized the importance of timely completion for reliable electricity supply, which is crucial for economic growth, particularly in Aba, a major commercial center.

The committee urged the management to maintain transparency regarding equipment procurement and to accelerate external work ahead of the rainy season. Adighij confirmed that the company is on a recovery trajectory, with a revised recovery plan in place to ensure timely project completion by 2027.
