NDPHC Targets Q3 2027 for Alaoji Power Plant Completion

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) has set a new target for the completion of the 570MW Alaoji Power Plant by the third quarter of 2027, following previous delays. Managing Director Jennifer Adighij, during a tour with the House of Representatives Committee on Power, explained that the company has compelled contractors to submit a revised recovery plan to ensure timely project completion.

Adighij noted that the initial completion timeline was no longer feasible due to prior slippages. She assured the committee that NDPHC is committed to providing the necessary technical and financial support to facilitate project progress without further setbacks.

The committee chairman, Victor Nwokolo, praised Adighij's proactive approach in resolving logistical bottlenecks that had stalled the project for years. The leadership of NDPHC has made significant progress, as evidenced by the recovery of hundreds of containers, demonstrating extra effort to advance the project.
