Ndume Condemns Maiduguri Bomb Attack, Urges Vigilance

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, condemned a recent bomb explosion in Maiduguri, describing it as a barbaric and inhuman attack on innocent civilians. The explosion occurred around Mondai Market, near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, at approximately 7:02 PM on a Monday, resulting in several fatalities and numerous injuries.

The Federal Fire Service confirmed the deployment of personnel to assess the situation. Ndume expressed deep sorrow over the attack, extending condolences to Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the families of the victims receiving treatment at UMTH.

He emphasized the need for heightened vigilance among residents, particularly with Eid celebrations approaching, and urged them to report any suspicious activities. The Nigerian Army warned of potential multiple suicide bombers linked to Boko Haram, indicating that the attack aimed to inflict mass casualties and spread panic.

Ndume concluded by praying for the souls of the deceased and the speedy recovery of the injured.
