Ndume Urges Vigilance in Maiduguri After Deadly Attack

Senator Ali Ndume has issued a warning to residents of Maiduguri, urging them not to let their guard down in light of a recent attack that resulted in 23 fatalities and 146 injuries. He described the incident as barbaric and inhumane, noting that the attack targeted densely populated areas, including the Mondai market and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).

Ndume, currently in Saudi Arabia performing Umrah, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for stronger security measures across Borno State and the country, given the persistent threat to civilian lives. He extended his sympathies to Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum and the families of the victims, emphasizing the need for coordinated action and community vigilance, particularly as Eid celebrations approach.

Ndume called on residents to report any suspicious activities and to remain alert, stressing that security is a shared responsibility.
