42 Abducted in Borno School Invasion by Boko Haram

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, confirmed that no fewer than 42 individuals, including students, were abducted during an invasion by armed members of Boko Haram and ISWAP at the Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Mussa in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State. This incident occurred on Friday, with Ndume appealing to security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army, to intensify efforts to rescue the victims.

The attack has left parents and guardians feeling hopeless and disheartened. Ndume noted that the abduction took place during a time when students were engaged in early morning classes.

A statement issued by Ndume indicated that four students (two male and two female) were abducted from GDSS, while 28 pupils were taken from the primary section, along with 10 children from various residential houses, totaling 42 individuals. Ndume, a former chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, expressed condolences to families affected by the recent attacks in the Chibok community and the broader southern Borno senatorial district.
