Ndume Urges Urgent Military Support for Borno State

Former Senate Leader Ali Ndume has raised alarms regarding the security situation in Borno State and the broader North-East region of Nigeria, warning that the area could be lost entirely if urgent measures are not taken to strengthen military capabilities. Representing Borno South Senatorial District, Ndume emphasized the need for the Federal Government to equip the Nigerian Army with modern weapons and adequate ammunition to effectively combat insurgency and banditry.

His comments followed a recent visit to conflict-affected communities, where he noted the devastating impact of insurgent attacks, including a coordinated assault by Boko Haram that resulted in the deaths of several soldiers and civilians. Ndume commended Governor Zulum for his leadership and efforts to support displaced persons, urging the Federal Government to provide immediate relief and assist in rebuilding destroyed communities.

He highlighted the ongoing threat posed by improvised explosive devices and the need for a coordinated response to address these hazards.
