Ndume Calls for Rebuilding Borno Communities After Attacks

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, Ali Ndume, the former Senate leader representing Borno South Senatorial District, called on the Nigerian government to urgently rebuild communities in Borno State that have been ravaged by terrorist attacks. During a press conference in Abuja, Ndume expressed alarm over the overwhelming firepower of terrorists during recent assaults, particularly in Ngosh Pulka, where he visited alongside Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum.

He condemned the scale of destruction affecting the community and emphasized the need for the federal government to equip the Nigerian Army with sophisticated weapons and adequate ammunition to sustain the fight against insurgency. This call for action comes in the wake of a resurgence of violence in the region, including multiple suicide bombings in Maiduguri that killed at least 23 people and injured over 100.

Ndume noted the critical infrastructure damage and the plight of internally displaced persons, urging the federal government to support ongoing rebuilding efforts.
