NECA Applauds FG's Suspension of Sachet Alcohol Ban, Citing Economic Concerns

The Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association (NECA) has commended the Federal Government for halting the enforcement of the ban on 200ml sachet alcohol products. NECA's Director-General, Adewale Oyerinde, highlighted the importance of restoring regulatory clarity and expressed concerns about the economic repercussions of the abrupt policy measure.

The suspension follows consultations and clarifications from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) and addresses NECA's worries about job losses and investment threats in the alcohol beverage industry. NECA emphasized the need for evidence-based solutions to address public health concerns without negatively impacting the economy.
