NECO Warns of Fraudulent Supervisor Recruitment Portals

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has alerted the public about fraudulent online recruitment portals that are soliciting applications for examination supervisors in connection with the upcoming 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Azeez Sani, the acting director, stated that these fraudulent platforms are requesting personal and academic details and demanding payment, which NECO does not require.

The council clarified that it does not charge fees for the recruitment of supervisors. NECO aims to introduce a fully electronic recruitment process to enhance the quality and credibility of public examinations in Nigeria, transitioning from a previous analog system.

The recruitment will target qualified pension teachers at grade level 12 and above, aged at least 30 years. NECO plans to recruit 22,000 supervisors, with the official recruitment portal available on their website.

The new digital recruitment system is designed to prevent fraud and reduce examination malpractice while ensuring transparency and fairness in the selection of supervisors.
