Minister Praises Successful 2026 NECO CBT SSCE Exam

Professor Suwaiba Ahmad, the Minister of State for Education, commended the smooth conduct of the 2026 NECO Computer-Based Test (CBT) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) during a monitoring visit at the Anglican Girl Grammar School in Garki 2, Abuja. She revealed that students expressed a strong preference for the CBT format, citing improvements in their examination experience.

Ahmad highlighted the CBT system's ability to curb examination malpractice through randomized questions and emphasized the government's commitment to expanding CBT nationwide. She reported that the technical performance of the exam was satisfactory, with no network failures or system malfunctions.

NECO Registrar, Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, announced that results would be released in the first week of September, facilitated by the efficiency of the CBT system.

A total of 1,378,048 candidates registered for the examination, with female candidates slightly outnumbering their male counterparts, reflecting ongoing government efforts to promote girl-child education.
