NECO Releases 2025 SSCE External Results with Over 80% Scoring Five Credits and Above
The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External Results, revealing that over 80% of candidates achieved five credits and above. The announcement was made by Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, during a press briefing at the council's headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
A total of 96,979 candidates registered for the exam, with 80,082 candidates securing five credits and above, including in English Language and Mathematics. Prof. Wushishi disclosed that 9,016 candidates were involved in various forms of misconduct, leading to an increase in malpractice cases compared to the previous year.
As a result, five supervisors and two examination centers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano, Adamawa, and Ondo State have been recommended for blacklisting due to malpractice. Additionally, four examination centers in Niger State, Yobe, and Kano have been recommended for derecognition.
