NECO Proposes Partnership with NOUN for Result Verification

On Tuesday, during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Uduma O. Uduma, the Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Professor Dantani Wushishi, called for a closer collaboration between the two institutions.

The partnership aims to enhance result verification and expand computer-based testing (CBT) nationwide. Wushishi highlighted the importance of integrating NECO's e-verification platform to authenticate candidates' results, which would streamline the admissions process and address delays caused by manual verification systems.

NECO has launched its e-verification platform, which has processed nearly five million results. The collaboration is expected to support the federal government's policy towards migrating from paper-based to computer-based testing, with NOUN's extensive CBT infrastructure being a significant asset.

The partnership could facilitate the admission of 40,000 students annually starting in 2026, ensuring academic integrity in result verification.
