NECO and NOUN Collaborate for Result Verification

The National Examinations Council (NECO), led by Registrar Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, has announced a partnership with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) to improve the verification of candidates' results.

This initiative, discussed during a visit to the university on Tuesday, aims to safeguard the integrity of NECO certificates and ensure that candidates present authentic results for admission into NOUN. Prof.

Uduma Oji Uduma, the Vice Chancellor of NOUN, expressed support for this collaboration, emphasizing the importance of result verification in maintaining academic integrity. NECO has introduced an electronic verification system, NECO e-verify, which has transformed the result verification process, allowing for nearly five million results to be verified electronically.

This partnership will begin integrating the NECO e-verify platform into NOUN's admission cycle in 2026, with a commitment to support NECO's expansion of computer-based testing (CBT) across its 128 study centers nationwide.
