NEMA and ADSEMA Conduct Flood Response Simulation in Adamawa

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), has launched a flood disaster simulation exercise in Adamawa State to evaluate the preparedness and response capabilities of emergency management agencies and other stakeholders. The exercise, focusing on early warning, evacuation, search and rescue, and effective coordination during flood emergencies, is scheduled for Thursday at Bakin Kogi in Yola North Local Government Area.

Air Commodore Bature Usman, the Director of Search and Rescue at NEMA, briefed the Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, on the initiative. Usman emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination among stakeholders to enhance the state's capacity for flood disaster response.

Deputy Governor Farauta praised the simulation as a timely initiative and assured continued support from the state government to improve disaster risk management. The meeting included NEMA Zonal Director Mr Sulaiman Yakubu, Acting Director of Relief and Rehabilitation Mr Abbani Imam Garki, and Head of NEMA Yola Operations Office Mr Ladan Ayuba.
