NEMA Hosts Meeting on Early Warnings for All Initiative

On Thursday, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) convened a high-level joint meeting with relevant government agencies and development partners to prepare for the national launch of the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative. This meeting aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and improve the proactive management of floods and climate-related hazards in Nigeria.

NEMA's Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, emphasized the significance of this meeting in enhancing Nigeria’s disaster risk management framework.

Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), highlighted the importance of effective communication in disseminating early warning information to at-risk populations.

He reaffirmed NCC's commitment to supporting the initiative. Other notable attendees included Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Mohammed (Director General of NIHSA), Dr.

Matthew Adepoju (Director General of NASRDA), Prof. Charles Anosike (Director General of NiMet), and Mr.

Muliro Mashauri (representative of UNDRR).
