NEPL and Seplat Launch New STEAM Labs in Edo State

On April 8, 2026, NEPL and Seplat Energy Plc commissioned two new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) laboratories at Ogb Uselu Secondary School in the Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. This initiative aims to drive educational sustainability and promote excellence among students.

Mr. Chioma Af, the Director of External Affairs and Social Performance at Seplat Energy Plc, noted that the joint venture has successfully built and commissioned nine STEAM laboratories in Edo and Delta States, increasing the total to 14.

The laboratories are designed to foster practical learning and critical thinking in students. Mr.

Nicola Foucart, the Managing Director of NEPL, emphasized the importance of equipping students with relevant skills for a rapidly changing world. Dr.

Paddi Iyamu, a former Commissioner for Education in Edo State, described the STEAM labs as a significant investment in the future of Nigerian children.
