NEPL and Seplat Launch New STEAM Labs in Edo Schools

NEPL and Seplat Energy have commissioned two new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) laboratories at Ogb Uselu Secondary School in the Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. This addition brings the total number of STEAM laboratories established in Edo and Delta states to 14.

The initiative, which aims to drive educational sustainability and promote excellence among students, was highlighted by Mr. Chioma Af, Director of External Affairs and Social Performance at Seplat Energy PLC.

The joint venture has successfully executed various educational programs, including the Seplat Teacher Empower Program and the Pearl Quiz Competition. The laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art solar-powered facilities to ensure 24-hour constant power supply.

Mr. Nicola Foucart, Managing Director of NEPL, emphasized the importance of practical learning and critical thinking in science and technology.

Dr. Paddi Iyamu, former Commissioner for Education in Edo State, described the STEAM labs as a significant investment in the future of Nigerian children.
