NEPCo and NCDMB Launch Geosciences Center at UNILAG

On Friday, NEPCo, in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), inaugurated a world-class geosciences center at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). This initiative is part of a broader human capacity development program aimed at strengthening technical skills in Nigeria's oil and gas industry.

Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogb, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, emphasized that the center reflects a commitment to building local capacity and enhancing Nigeria's position in the global energy sector.

The center will facilitate training for 10,000 young Nigerians in critical industry skills, aligning with the Nigerian Content policy directed by President Bola Tinubu. Engr.

Abayomi Bamidel highlighted that geosciences is among the top ten skills needed in the oil and gas field. The project was selected based on the identified skill set of UNILAG, which has shown competence in geosciences.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu noted the importance of developing local expertise to sustain economic growth and resilience.
