NEPL/Seplat JV Launches STEAM Labs in Delta State

The NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL)/Seplat Energy Joint Venture (JV) has commissioned two fully equipped Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) laboratories at Asagba Mixed Secondary School and Zappa Basic Secondary School in Asaba, Delta State. This initiative aims to strengthen practical learning and improve educational outcomes in the state.

Additionally, the Joint Venture trained 500 teachers across Delta State in contemporary STEAM-based teaching skills. Chioma Afe, Director of External Affairs and Social Performance at Seplat Energy Plc, represented by Esther Icha, General Manager of Corporate Social Investment and Social Performance, stated that these projects are strategic investments in the future generation.

Afe noted that the facilities bring the total number of STEAM laboratory interventions by the Joint Venture in Delta State to seven. Dr Kingsley Ashibuogwu, Commissioner for Secondary Education, praised Seplat Energy for its commitment to education and encouraged students to utilize the laboratories effectively.

Hon. Bridget Anyafulu also commended the initiative, recalling other educational programs by the JV.
