Seplat Energy to Train 500 Teachers in Edo State

The NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL)/Seplat Energy Joint Venture announced its commitment to enhancing education by training 500 teachers in Edo State through the 2026 Seplat Teachers Empowerment Programme (STEP). This initiative was revealed in Benin, Edo State, by Chioma Afe, Director of External Affairs & Social Performance at Seplat Energy Plc, represented by Esther Icha, General Manager of Corporate Social Investment & Social Performance.

The STEP program has previously trained over 2,000 teachers and education evaluators in Edo, Delta, and Imo States over six years. Afe emphasized the importance of continuous teacher development in response to changing educational trends.

The program aims to strengthen teachers' skills and provide access to resources and facilitators. Washington Osa Osifo, the Edo State Commissioner for Education, praised Seplat Energy for its ongoing support and partnership with the Edo State Government, highlighting the significance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in educational development.
