NERC Advocates for Enhanced Electricity Consumer Education

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), chaired by Dr. Musiliu Oseni, has called for enhanced consumer education regarding electricity in Nigeria.

This appeal was made during a visit to the Power Correspondents Association of Nigeria (PCAN) in Abuja. Dr.

Oseni highlighted the importance of collaboration with PCAN to improve media coverage, which is essential for securing public support for ongoing reforms in the Nigerian electricity supply industry. He acknowledged the role of PCAN in promoting better information dissemination.

PCAN Chairman Oba Esiedesa praised NERC for its efforts in improving digital transparency and proactive data sharing. He reaffirmed PCAN's commitment to enhancing the depth and accuracy of reporting within the power sector, indicating a mutual goal of fostering better understanding and engagement among electricity consumers.
