NERC Advocates for Enhanced Electricity Consumer Education

On March 23, 2026, Dr. Musiliu Oseni, the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), called for increased consumer education regarding electricity during a visit with the Power Correspondents Association of Nigeria (PCAN).

He highlighted the importance of informing the public to promote better understanding and support for ongoing reforms within the Nigerian electricity supply industry. Dr.

Oseni welcomed collaboration with PCAN to enhance media coverage, which he deemed vital for securing public support. Additionally, PCAN Chairman Oba Esiedesa commended NERC for its efforts to improve digital transparency and proactive data sharing.
