Netherlands Allows Work Without Permit for 30 Countries

The Dutch government has announced that citizens from 30 countries are allowed to work in the Netherlands without needing to apply for a work permit. This exemption applies to nationals from all European Economic Area (EEA) countries and Swiss citizens.

The official statement clarifies that while Dutch, EEA, and Swiss nationals can work freely in the Netherlands, citizens from other countries must fulfill certain conditions to be eligible for employment. The list of 30 countries includes Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

The Dutch government has not specified the conditions required for citizens from non-listed countries, but it generally involves employers obtaining the necessary work authorization for prospective employees.
