Netherlands Allows Unlimited Working Holiday Permits for 3 Nations

The Netherlands has confirmed that nationals from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand face no annual limit when applying for a Working Holiday residence permit, according to the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). This exemption sets these three countries apart from the nine eligible countries under the Dutch scheme, which includes Argentina, Uruguay, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea.

For most of these eligible nations, the number of permits issued each year is strictly controlled, with Argentina, Uruguay, Hong Kong, and Taiwan limited to 100 participants annually, while Japan and South Korea are allowed a maximum of 200 young participants per year. Once these quotas are filled, applicants from those countries must wait until the following year to apply.

The Working Holiday permit is designed for young people wishing to spend an extended period in the Netherlands, combining travel with short-term work, and is not available to nationals outside the nine listed countries.
