East Orange, Ugwumba Centre Launch Nigeria-U.S. Partnership

The City of East Orange in New Jersey has established a strategic partnership with the Ugwumba Centre in Imo State, Nigeria, aimed at promoting leadership development, human capacity building, and sustainable community development. This partnership was formalized during a meeting between East Orange Mayor Ted Green and Uche Nwosu, the founder of the Ugwumba Centre, who received the city’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Human Capacity Development.

The initiative will be coordinated by the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership and is designed to facilitate leadership training, skills acquisition, and institutional exchanges to empower youth and strengthen community ties. Nwosu described the agreement as a significant milestone for both Nigeria and the United States, emphasizing the shared commitment to investing in people and institutions.

He expressed gratitude for the recognition from East Orange and optimism about the collaboration's potential to create lasting opportunities for both communities.
