China and Nigeria Strengthen Tourism Cooperation in Abuja

The China Cultural Centre in Nigeria (CCCIN) expressed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Nigeria in various sectors, particularly tourism, during a seminar held on Tuesday in Abuja. The event, co-hosted with the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) and the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), focused on China's tourism development experience.

Mr. Yang Jianxing, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy and Director of CCCIN, highlighted the potential of both nations in tourism, citing their rich cultural and natural resources. He noted that 2023 marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria and the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.

Dr. Abisoye Fagade, Director General/CEO of NIHOTOUR, emphasized the seminar as a platform to translate the friendship between the two countries into skills, investments, and sustainable tourism development, advocating for learning from China's experiences without mechanical replication.
