Dias Praises New Signings' Ambition Under Maresca

Ruben Dias, the captain of Manchester City, expressed that the club's new signings are "desperate to win" as Enzo Maresca starts his role as manager. Manchester City made a Premier League record investment of £458 million during the recent transfer window, acquiring players such as Enzo Fernandez, Elliot Anderson, and Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The club also generated over £300 million from player sales, losing experienced players including 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri, former captain Bernardo Silva, and England international John Stones. Dias, who joined Manchester City from Benfica for £65 million in 2020, received the captain's armband from Maresca.

He acknowledged that Guardiola's departure was challenging but described Maresca as the "perfect person for the job" due to his familiarity with the club. Manchester City has won their first four matches in the Premier League and Champions League and will face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

Dias noted that training has been joyful and that players are excited about Maresca's ideas.
