Man City Plans to Replace Rodri After Barcelona Move

Rodri, a key midfielder for Manchester City, departed the club after seven seasons, joining Barcelona for approximately £65 million. He signed a four-year contract with the La Liga champions.

During his tenure at City, Rodri made nearly 300 appearances, won four Premier League titles, scored the decisive goal in the 2023 Champions League final, and was awarded the 2024 Ballon d'Or. New Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca recognized the impact of Rodri's absence and stated that the club will seek to find a suitable replacement.

He referenced the club's history of effectively replacing significant players, citing past transitions involving David Silva, Sergio Aguero, and Fernandinho. Maresca expressed confidence in the club's ability to recruit the next key player, stating, “When they leave, you need to be good in recruiting the next one.”.
