Morocco's Coach Praises CAF's Title Stripping Decision

Moham Ouahbi, the new head coach of Morocco, expressed his congratulations to the Moroccan football staff and players following the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to strip Senegal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title. This decision was made after Senegalese players walked off the pitch in protest when a penalty was awarded to Morocco late in the second half of the final match on January 18 in Rabat, which Senegal won 1-0.

Ouahbi, who replaced Walid Regragui earlier this month, emphasized the importance of focusing on Morocco's future goals, including competing in the World Cup. The Senegalese Football Federation announced plans to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, deeming it unjust.

The CAF's disciplinary committee imposed sanctions, including a fine, due to unsportsmanlike conduct. Morocco, which reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, will be in Group C for this year's edition alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti.
