Ash Biomedical Launches Seven New Rapid Test Kits in Nigeria

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has registered seven rapid diagnostic test kits manufactured by Ash Biomedical Diagnostics Limited for HIV, malaria, hepatitis, and pregnancy testing. The products include ABD HIVChek, MalChek, MalChek Plus, HepaQuik, HepaQuik Duo, PregSure, and FlaviQuik.
FlaviQuik is specifically for Hepatitis C testing, while HepaQuik Duo screens for both Hepatitis B and C. Adetoyese Shodeinde, Managing Director of Ash Biomedical, stated that the company has invested years in developing these products to meet regulatory standards. Established in 2011, Ash Biomedical has supplied around 15 million test kits across 27 states in Nigeria.
Independent evaluations confirmed the accuracy of their rapid tests against reference laboratory findings. The company is also constructing a diagnostic manufacturing facility in Idu, Abuja, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, which will enhance local production and reduce dependence on imported kits.
