New Zealand Bars Certain Students from Working on Visas

New Zealand's immigration authority has outlined five specific categories of international students who are not permitted to work while on a student visa. These categories include: 1) Students under 16 years of age, who cannot be granted a student visa with work conditions; 2) Students enrolled in training schemes, as these are not classified as qualifications; 3) Students studying towards a micro-credential, which also does not qualify for work rights; 4) Students studying part-time, as student visas are issued for full-time study only; and 5) Students whose visa conditions do not permit work, requiring a successful application to change these conditions for employment eligibility.

Additionally, all international students on a student visa are prohibited from self-employment and providing commercial sexual services. Students with discrepancies in their visa conditions are advised to contact New Zealand's immigration authority for resolution.
