New Zealand Visa Waiver: 60 Countries Eligible for NZeTA

New Zealand has expanded its visa waiver program, enabling citizens from around 60 countries to enter the country using the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) instead of the traditional visa application process. This initiative is part of New Zealand's efforts to streamline entry for nationals from countries with established diplomatic and bilateral relationships.

The official immigration website of New Zealand outlines that eligible passport holders can obtain the NZeTA prior to their trip. However, the list of countries benefiting from this waiver includes only Mauritius and Seychelles for African nations.

Notably, citizens from major African economies such as Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Egypt are excluded from this waiver, meaning they must continue to apply for a standard New Zealand visa. This exclusion highlights ongoing challenges for many individuals from the African continent wishing to travel to New Zealand.
