‘Next Generation’ Players Separate themselves from Colleagues

At the Zenith Bank Next Generation Masters in Lagos, junior tennis players aged 16 showcased their talent, distinguishing themselves from their peers. Goodnews Aina of Lekmak Tennis Academy emerged victorious, proving her win at the National Khadijat Mohammed Central Bank Senior Championships was no fluke.

She defeated Sarah Adisa and Abiodun Temiloluwa in the round-robin group stage. In the boys' tournament, Yohana Yakubu and Seyi Ogunsakin also dominated their matches, defeating their opponents with impressive scores.

The semifinals, held on Thursday, were described as explosive by organizers. The finals are set to take place on Friday, with the grand finale featuring players from three age groups - 12, 14, and 16 - scheduled for Saturday.

The Next Generation Masters has highlighted the promising talent in Nigerian junior tennis.
