NFF Urges Falconets to Win Against New Caledonia

Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, the Acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), called on the U20 women’s national team, Falconets, to perform well in their final group phase match against New Caledonia at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland on Sunday. He emphasized the importance of winning to qualify for the Round of 16, noting that the team currently has one point after a 0-0 draw with China.

Ikpeme highlighted the necessity of scoring goals to improve their chances, especially after a previous loss to Spain. Additionally, he visited the U17 girls’ national team, Flamingos, who are preparing for the WAFU-B U17 Girls Tournament in Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire, starting on September 15.

He encouraged them to aim for victory to build confidence ahead of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. Ikpeme also congratulated Rangers International of Enugu for their success in the CAF Champions League after defeating Sobemap FC of Benin Republic in a penalty shootout.
