NFF Doubles Eric Chelle's Salary, Appoints U-23 Coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has enhanced the contract of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, doubling his monthly salary to $100,000. In addition to this increase, Chelle has been assigned the responsibility of managing Nigeria's U-23 national team.

This new arrangement was approved during a joint meeting between the NFF and the National Sports Commission (NSC) in Abuja, with NSC chairman Shehu Dikko disclosing the details. The revised agreement includes improved financial terms, and the NFF will directly pay the salaries of Chelle and his assistants.

Chelle's appointment is set for January 2025, with a two-year contract that includes an option for extension. His salary increase will also cover the wages of his backroom staff.

Chelle, a Malian tactician, is expected to lead the Olympic Eagles in preparation for the 2028 Olympic Games, with the NFF agreeing that he will oversee the U-23 national team and develop young players for the Super Eagles.
