Eric Chelle Signs $100,000 Contract as Super Eagles Coach

Eric Chelle has officially signed a new contract as the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, valued at $100,000 annually. This contract, which puts an end to ongoing speculation, was finalized by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after negotiations that spanned several months.

Chelle's contract is set to last until January 2025, with the primary objective of qualifying Nigeria for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The NFF reportedly offered a figure closer to $100,000, which Chelle accepted after submitting a 19-point proposal in January.

Additionally, Chelle will oversee the U-23 side, tasked with qualifying Nigeria for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Football analyst Clinton McDubu noted that Chelle's coaching philosophy and execution on the pitch are expected to attract new talent to the national team.

The Super Eagles aim to impress in the upcoming AFCON 2025, with confidence in Chelle's leadership.
