NFF Resumes CAF Coaching Courses After Nine-Year Hiatus

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has been granted approval by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to resume its coaching courses, which had been on hold for nine years. This development was communicated in a letter from Jaida Zakaria, a CAF coach educator, to the NFF on Wednesday.

Terri Babatunde Eguaoj, the NFF's head of coach education, described this as a significant advancement for coaching education in Nigeria. The NFF plans to begin preparations for the first CAF licensing course, which has not been held since 2017.

Mohammed Sanusi, the NFF's General Secretary, confirmed that the federation is eager to implement the program. Additionally, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau announced plans to organize a CAF B licensing program for women coaches next year.

The NFF has previously conducted a four-month CAF B licensing course for 25 coaches and aims to address the coaching gap in Nigerian sports through these initiatives.
