NFF Restructures Leadership Amid Executive Resignations

On Thursday, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau resigned as President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), along with General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi and members of the Executive Committee. In response, the National Sports Commission appointed Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, the former Deputy General Secretary, as interim General Secretary, while Dr Ademola Olajire, previously the Director of Media and Communications, will serve as interim Deputy General Secretary.

All preparations for the NFF Elective Congress scheduled for September 27 have been suspended, and a new electoral process will be initiated after comprehensive reforms are completed in consultation with FIFA and CAF. Additionally, the Chairmen and Directors of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Women Football League, and Nationwide League One have been instructed to transfer administrative responsibilities to their Chief Operating Officers, ensuring continuity during this transitional phase.
