NFF Orders Heartland FC to Compensate Coach Uzor N6.4M

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has mandated Heartland FC to compensate coach Charl Uzor with N6.4 million following the unlawful termination of his contract. Uzor had signed a two-year contract on August 1, 2024, which stipulated a monthly salary of N700,000.

However, the contract was terminated prematurely on June 11, 2025, without just cause or proper procedure. Uzor initially claimed N8.4 million for the remaining terms of his contract.

The NFF's Player Status Arbitration Committee ruled in favor of Uzor, ordering Heartland FC to pay the compensation within 45 days of receiving the decision. The NFF has warned that failure to comply with this ruling could lead to a transfer registration ban, reinforcing its commitment to contractual integrity within Nigerian football.
