Flying Eagles Demand N1.5bn Bonuses from NFF

The Flying Eagles have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) regarding unpaid bonuses amounting to N1.5 billion. This financial issue arises from the team's participation in six major tournaments over the past three years, including the WAFU B Cup, U-20 AFCON, and the U-20 World Cup.

The team, coached by Ladan Bosso, qualified for the 2023 U-20 AFCON and reached the quarter-finals of the U-20 World Cup in Argentina. Despite the NFF's promise of a qualification bonus of $5,000 per player and daily allowances, players claim that the NFF has not paid these amounts, leading to frustration.

NFF President Amaju Pinnick's board has reportedly scrapped match bonuses since 2017, and team members are concerned that the NFF is delaying payments to reduce debt before the upcoming elections. NFF General Secretary Moham Sanusi stated that the federation is working to settle the payments and emphasized the importance of addressing the issue promptly.
