NGA Advocates Regional Agenda to Enhance Africa's Gas Potential

The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), through its regional coordinator for Africa, Akachukwu Nwokedi, is urging for a regional development agenda to unlock Africa's gas potential. This initiative follows the successful conclusion of a ministerial roundtable held in Abuja, which was part of Nigeria's decade-long gas initiative.

The roundtable, hosted by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ekperikpe Ekpo, brought together African energy ministers, policymakers, and financial industry leaders to promote a coordinated approach to gas development across the continent. Nwokedi emphasized the need to overcome challenges in Africa's gas landscape, advocating against a silo approach and promoting integration in regional markets.

He noted that gas remains a strategic enabler for Africa's industrialization, reliable power generation, and expansion of clean cooking access, which are essential for a pragmatic energy transition.
