Alarming Drug Abuse Among Kano Youths: Urgent Action Needed, NGO Warns

Kano Youth Society Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) raised concerns about the alarming rate of drug abuse among youths in Kano State, Nigeria. The Executive Director, Zainab Nasir Ahmad, revealed that nearly 80% of youths aged 15-25 in Kano are currently involved in substance abuse, posing a significant threat to the future of the state and the region.

YOSPIS warned that urgent action is needed to address this issue before it escalates further, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive strategy involving education, law enforcement, rehabilitation centers, and community engagement to combat the menace effectively.
