The NGX All-Share Index closed nearly flat at 251,131.37 points, down just 0.03%, as broad market sentiment remained cautious despite robust trading activity. Strong performances in transport and financial stocks were offset by significant selloffs in fintech and commodity-linked equities.

The Nigerian bourse closed Friday's session in neutral territory, with the ASI declining marginally by 0.03% to 251,131.37 points. However, this headline figure obscures meaningful divergence in underlying price action, with gainers and losers posting double-digit moves across multiple stocks.

Transport and logistics stocks led the charge, with TRANSEXPR surging 10.00% to ₦2.97 and ABCTRANS climbing 9.63% to ₦7.40. The sector's outperformance signals investor appetite for logistics plays, likely reflecting confidence in Nigeria's trade dynamics. Financial services also showed strength, with CMFC gaining 9.95% to ₦4.75 and LIVINGTRUST rising 9.87% to ₦3.45, suggesting renewed interest in mid-cap financial plays.

Conversely, technology and commodities weighed heavily. ETRANZACT, the session's second most-traded stock with 41.1 million shares, dropped 9.84% to ₦11.00, erasing ₦1.20 per share. NGXGROUP fell 6.85% to ₦168.60, a ₦12.40 decline that may reflect broader concerns about exchange-linked valuations. Commodity exposure also weakened, with FTNCOCOA falling 8.07% to ₦7.63.

Trading remained robust with 491.7 million shares worth ₦23.3 billion transacted across 49,395 deals, though the market cap stood at ₦163.1 trillion. ACCESSCORP dominated volume at 180.8 million shares, underscoring continued liquidity concentration in tier-one stocks.

Watchers should monitor whether fintech weakness persists into the next session, as further selloffs could signal broader sector repositioning.
