NHRC Urges Nigerian Border Officials to Uphold Migrants' Human Rights and Dignity

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Nigeria, in collaboration with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), urged Nigerian border officials to uphold the human rights and dignity of migrants. During a high-level briefing in Abuja, key border agencies, development partners, and human rights experts discussed the need to ensure fair treatment and protection for migrants at border posts.

Dr. Tony Ojukwu highlighted that every migrant, regardless of status, is entitled to full protection of their human rights.

The NHRC reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring and reporting on human rights conditions, including at border posts, in line with Nigeria's international obligations.
