Nicki Minaj campaigns for Trump at Michigan rally ahead of US midterms

On October 25, 2026, rapper Nicki Minaj appeared at a Republican campaign rally held in Port Huron, Michigan, where she expressed backing for US President Donald Trump and his party's candidates. With the November midterm elections approaching, Minaj took the opportunity to address attendees.

Having previously called herself a Trump supporter, she asserted that the president had transformed the nation's political mood and instilled hope in the electorate. Her message urged voters to select Republican candidates, framing the upcoming vote as crucial to determining America's trajectory.

The artist attracted considerable media coverage both for her political backing and for her transportation to the event. She travelled to Michigan on Air Force One, the presidential aircraft, and subsequently posted video footage on social media revealing what lay inside the plane.

Within 24 hours, the clip surpassed five million views. The recorded segment showcased the cabin's interior: white seating arrangements, pink ambient lighting, lamps, multiple screens, and various pieces of framed artwork, one depicting the Washington Monument.

Her social media caption referenced her fanbase and sparked widespread discussion across digital platforms. At the rally itself, Minaj wore a gold-coloured suit from Gucci and energized the crowd through chants backing Trump alongside Michigan Republican hopefuls.

During proceedings, Trump offered personal commentary regarding Minaj's physical features, then subsequently offered an apology. He additionally delivered contentious remarks targeting Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed, part of broader Republican efforts to build momentum ahead of the midterm contest.

The event represented a significant campaign milestone, with Minaj's public support bringing celebrity prominence to Trump's Michigan operations. By taking part in the rally, she demonstrated alignment with the broader strategy of engaging prominent public figures to mobilize voters during the midterm campaign season.
